The silent patient is a book about a woman refusing to explain her choices of murdering her husband of 7 years. Her being detained before ever going to trial in her home. Her only statement was through a painting. A psychotherapist than found the painting and connected it with his own struggles of his mental health and own disorders. As the story went on, he stated more about his own personal struggles, like his abusive father and his suicidal thoughts. The trial came along, and the woman is found not guilty, with the means of diminishing the responsibilities of her. The psychotherapist, still fascinated with the woman, decides to investigate and have meetings with the people who may know of the woman before she murdered her husband. As the audience we begin to realize that the psychotherapist was an unreliable narrator, with the whole story actually being twisted to fit his own narrative. Revealing that he was the stalker, and that he tied both the husband and the girl up. This led to trauma of the girl to lead the girl to killing her own husband. The inspector states that he knows that he is involved in the death of her husband, when they story ends abruptly.
My Project
This has to do with my project because it puts the aspect of drama into this written form that helps me fully analyze the genre to its full potential. It provides a way for me to easily add aspects by just analyzing these different sources and things.
