Color Representation
Pink is usually used in films to represent compassion. It IS bright to show that spark, and it is also a color used to represent your love for something. Not only that but it also represents empowerment, specifically with female characters, it shows the embracing of who they are and fights against typical stereotypes with how bright they make it.
Red can also be used for love, specifically deep love based on the intensity of red used. It represents connections that have been long-lasting or intensely felt, in many romance films specifically. In addition, it can also be used for harm, since it is the color of blood and at a certain degree it can be disturbing to look at. It is used in many horror films to distort the environment.
Blue is typically used for the emotion sadness. At duller tones it can show gloom and unfortunate feelings of a character. While brighter it can be used to represent the finding of happiness, with brighter blues complimenting a face and making it brighter.
Black is used in films to mainly symbolize the very ideas of evil, with its showing mystery, intensity, and unexpected behavior. It typically used in costuming to show that this person is against the "villain' of the story. It also represents death, which is shown by funeral wear, coffins, skulls, etc.
Yellow can be used to represent happiness, which can be shown through things like sunlight. It helps show intense feelings of joy, more with the intensity of yellow shown. It is also used to perform the use of memories in film; the brightness helps the scene look faded so it can look like someone's past.
My Project
This will help give me a color scheme to go with for my project. It tells me what the audience will expect for each color I use.
